Jamaicans vote out, not in
Dear Editor,
Jamaicans do not vote in governments, they vote them out.
Whenever it is believed that a Government has passed its usefulness and relevance, this characteristic of the people trips in.
The present Government seems oblivious of the fact that Jamaicans possess this characteristic and has continued on its merry path of oppressing the people, especially the poor and marginalised.
They have now embarked on this massive public relations stunt to sway public opinion that it is a Government that cares and is working for a better quality of life for all. But the taste of the pudding is in the eating, and I can say that this Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) regime’s performance is far from palatable.
In the court of public opinion, it is corrupt, inept, and only works in the interest of the powerful and monied class.
One would have thought that our ninth prime minister, Andrew Holness, who happens to be the first one born on this side Independence, would be more accommodative to principles and objectives that pave a road to facilitate wealth and job creation for his contemporaries.
The year 2023 has hit us with a bomb of dishonesty across both public and private sectors. Trust in those who lead is remarkably low. With all the massive public relations campaigning embarked on by the Government, the people have raised the red flag that the product of this JLP-led Executive is flawed and comes with lots of factory faults.
Time come for this Government to pack its bag and go and give the people a fighting chance. Additionally, the JLP should not for one moment believe that Jamaicans will be staying away from the polls, because they are going there to vote out a Government.
Let that sink in!
