Rosh hopes to reign supreme
AS she prepares to release her debut EP Reign, up-and-coming singer Rosh Reign is optimistic that it will put her on the map.
“I trust that this EP will reach the ears and hearts of many listeners, giving me a firm footing in the music industry as an up-and-coming artiste, making my name and music more known in as many countries as possible,” she told the Jamaica Observer.
While the project officially drops on February 3, 2023, Reign’s launch took place on January 10 at Janga’s Soundbar and Grill in St Andrew.
She noted that it was a success.
“The launch party was a beautiful experience — good vibes, good music and amazing energies sharing the night!
The entire night was a blessing, from Bella performing, Jahmiel joining me on stage, to all the artistes I called on stage. The artistes being on stage with me was definitely a highlight,” she said.
Featuring five tracks in all, titles include Right Time, Lockdown With Me, Run Come, and Way Up. The artiste is joined by Spain-based recording artiste Sumerr on the final track titled Living.
The project was produced by German producers DJ Densen and MLND.
The Manning’s School past student, whose given name is Roshauna Dennis, was part of the all-female trio, SLR, which made it into the top three of the Digicel Rising Stars competition in 2008. That year Cameal Davis won the competition.
As she looks to make a name for herself, Rosh Reign is eyeing future collaborations with some of her favourites.
“There are several artistes and producers I’d love to collaborate with, too many to name right now, but a few are Tarrus Riley, Agent Sasco, Major Lazer, Not Nice, and Stephen Marley,” she said.
