Jackson, McLaughlin to clash in 60m at New Balance Indoor Grand Prix
The fastest woman alive over 200m, Shericka Jackson, will take on 400m hurdles world record holder Sydney McLaughlin in a highly anticipated 60m clash at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, according to the sport’s governing body.
World Athletics made the announcement via its social media account on Tuesday.
Jackson, who made the switch to the 100 and 200m in 2021, has a lifetime best of 7.04 seconds in the 60m. Her best time was set at the GC Foster College in Spanish Town, Jamaica in February last year.
Meanwhile, the American McLaughlin has never competed in an event under 100m, but she has amassed a personal best time of 11.07 seconds (wind-aided) in the event.
The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is scheduled for Saturday, February 4 at the Track at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts.
