Innovative and alternative finance took centre stage last Thursday evening at the ATL Audi Showroom on Oxford Road in New Kingston as the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) invited Jamaica’s business class to talk about innovation, entrepreneurship and new models of investment. A collaborative effort of the DBJ’s Boosting Innovation, Growth and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (BIGEE) programme and the Caribbean Alternative Investments Association (CARAIA), the corporate mingle, dubbed Cocktails and Conversations, featured an update from CARAIA Chairman Berisford Grey on the growth of alternative finance in the region. Additionally, CARAIA Nerisha Farquharson moderated a panel discussion with JMMB Securities General Manager Kareem Tomlinson and BIGEE Programme Manager Christopher Brown.
