Gyal Ediot on high with Guh Dung
Dancehall deejay Gyal Ediot is hoping to ring in the new year on a high note with Guh Dung.
“This track is about dancing and just having a good time. It’s something that has been missing from dancehall for a while now, so I decided to bring it back in my own way. So much negativity out there, it is only right for me to put out songs that will lift people spirits,” the entertainer, whose given name is Garfield Lewis, told the Jamaica Observer .
Released on October 15, the song is part of the A20 Riddim and is co-produced by Canada-based record label and Diet Monkey Entertainment.
Since its release, Gyal Ediot says it had been doing relatively well.
“It’s been great like I anticipated. [As] a matter of fact, it’s doing well in South Africa,” he said.
The recording artiste has also been making huge waves in Canada and around the world with his high-octane performances. Recently he did a stellar performance in Calgary, Alberta, Canada as he was the first Jamaican to perform there on Canada Day. He also performed in Atlanta, Georgia, where he shared a stage with Michael Bolton.
“My style of music is fun, entertaining, educational and clean. What keeps me relevant in music is the hard work and consistency I put into all my releases; the hum or, my witty lyrical content and flow are what keep my fans entertained,” he said.
Some of his more previous releases include Chop Anotha featuring Tameka, Pandemic, Dah Body Deh, and Mash Up Mi Head.
With its growing success, the track is expected to further solidify his success, giving his listeners great expectations for what’s to come.
“Right now, I have more music and videos lined up. I already have a US tour that will be kicking off in April and multiple shows booked for 2023 in Canada and the Cayman Islands,” the artiste revealed.
