Jamaica Patty Co’s Very Green Christmas
Jamaica Patty Co (JPCo), on Sunday, December 11, hosted, at its Covent Garden location, a joint party with iconic record label Greensleeves that specialises in dancehall and reggae music.
To celebrate the Christmas collaboration JPCo created cocktail patties with green crusts which is Greensleeves’ corporate colour. Fillings comprised three of Jamaica Patty Co’s signature flavours, notably spicy beef, curried goat and vegetable (which is also vegan certified). There was, too, copious amounts of rum punch and Magnum Tonic Wine courtesy of co-sponsor J Wray & Nephew.
The “drop in”, which marked the start of the holiday season, attracted a vibrant crowd that partied until late in the night to the selections of DJs Oxman and Adam who delighted patrons with iconic sounds from Greensleeves’ impressive catalogue.
Jamaica Patty co-owner Theresa Roberts shared with Thursday Food her pride with the association. “This was a great collaboration of which I am very proud… Christmas shoppers in the Covent Garden area were fascinated and indeed delighted to witness a slice of pure Jamaican culture in the heart of Central London,” she said.
As the snow fell, the tunes and rum flowed, and delicious limited-edition Greensleeves Patties were served. So mellow was the vibe that VP Records posted a special thank you to Theresa Roberts, JPCo co-founder and her spectacular team for putting so much love into the event and to their Greensleeves friends old and new.
