Corporate companies light up New Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica— It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in New Kingston as companies spread the joy and spirit of the season with their various light designs.
Standing out this year is the J Wray and Nephew corporate office whose design created a canopy of lights causing the building to stand out against the dark of the night.

Executors of the project, Grapevine Marketing & Associates Limited, created a wonderland of lights, gifts and candy canes that appeal to the inner child of everyone who comes across the building.
Lloyd Clarke, CEO of Grapevine Marketing, told OBSERVER ONLINE that his team was excited for the opportunity to once again work with the beverage company to execute the vision of the holiday season.
“We decorated for J Wray and Nephew last year but it was the interior. We just did Christmas trees and things like that as a way to lift the spirit of the staff. So that is one of the reasons we took it; so that we can play a part in building morale,” Clarke said.
“So this year they called us to do the building exterior; something that we were excited about. We have always seen the pictures of other buildings online with lights and fabricated designs on the buildings like bows and so on, so we wanted to do something that would stand out in New Kingston,” he added.

The design is made with over 500 lights draped down the length of the building that stands about 47 feet. At the back of the building are tinted glass situated at the base of the structure, which reflects light to give the effect that the structure is completely enveloped in lights.
Other places of note that are spreading the joy of Christmas this year are the Jamaica Public Service Company; and the Emancipation Park– whose decorations create a welcoming aura for visitors.
