22-y-o construction worker held for abducting, robbing woman
DETECTIVES in Clarendon have charged 22-year-old Romario Edwards, a construction worker of Osborne Store in the parish, with forcible abduction and robbery with aggravation following an incident in May Pen, Clarendon, on January 15 this year.
Reports are that about 1:50 pm a woman was walking along Johnson Lane in May Pen when a Nissan AD Wagon, with two men aboard, drove up beside her. It is reported that armed men ordered her to enter the vehicle and she was taken to an abandoned building where she was robbed of $13,500 and a cellular phone.
The woman managed to escape and was taken to a police station by residents, and a report was made.
On December 12 cops were on operation during the state of public emergency when Edwards was arrested. He was positively pointed out during an identification parade on December 16, and subsequently charged.
