A new dimension of security
THE Guardsman Group of Companies has officially launched its newest arm, Guardsman Metaverse, which will offer a comprehensive suite of technology-based security solutions in Jamaica.
Formerly Guardsman Communications Limited t/a Guardsman Alarms, Guardsman Metaverse Limited boasts a host of solutions slated to transform the local security industry.
With new high-tech tools, many of which are the first of their kind in the country, the company has been branded as ‘a new dimension of security’ and has vowed to optimise and enhance the cadre of traditional security solutions currently available in the industry.
“When people think of Guardsman Metaverse, they should think of integrated, personalised security solutions. The service is provided by supplementing the manned guard complement with data from the devices around them, whether it is an alarm sensor or a camera alert. And in the true sense of the digital world in which we now live, Guardsman Metaverse has apps and other functions that allow our boots on the ground to be aware of threats in real-time, to react and to summon the nearest backup in seconds, if necessary,” expressed managing director of Guardsman Metaverse Limited, Renee Menzies-McCallum.
The list of new services to be offered by Guardsman Metaverse includes an integrated solution called SynRgi which combines advanced technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) with well-trained security officers to optimise detection and response capabilities for more effective security.
There is also the introduction of a number of other AI services such as: facial recognition, licence plate detection, object & weapon recognition, location detection, and crowd counting. Other services include aerial surveillance, dynamic armed response, an emergency response app for in-transit use called G-Alert, an integrated camera and alarm system providing real-time assessment called G-Scope, iProtect, a supplementary broadband solution, walk-through metal detectors, a client mobile app and traditional electronic security services.
All in all, Guardsman Metaverse is positioned to improve the precision of threat detection, modernise and make guard deployment efficient, introduce the most sophisticated forms of targeted area surveillance and tracking of both objects and people in order to benefit large and small Jamaican entities in a cost-effective manner.
Sharing the reason behind the advent of the company, Menzies-McCallum said that Guardsman Metaverse has been years in the making as security needs changed overtime and especially after the world was forced to fast-track digital transformation following COVID-19.
“Everyone needed digital solutions, even in security. Therefore we responded by offering solutions that are easier to use, that allow for remote capabilities and provide data to support better business decisions,” she said.
And in the face of the potential fall-out from impending changes to the structure and operations within the private security industry, Guardsman believes that a company like Guardsman Metaverse provides a unique opportunity to not only technologise the security space but to train and upskill the guards for a new and growing industry.
Additionally, some services are set to impact the residential market with smart home automation features such as the remote controlling of lights, locks, air conditioners and appliances. While also sending instant alerts through a mobile app when smoke, water leaks or floods are detected.
Guardsman Metaverse will roll out its cyber-intelligence services in 2023.
The company projects that by making these advanced security technologies readily accessible to individuals, businesses and government, Jamaica can see a positive impact on how crime is managed.
