A cool breeze, vista, and mellow sounds courtesy of Leroy Newell provided the perfect vibe for Claudette Tenn’s 75th birthday celebrations last Wednesday evening at her Beverly Hills home. The intimate circle of family, neighbours and friends in attendance were effusive in their praise of the woman whose hands have nurtured so many, and continue to do so.
Indeed, none other than Member of Parliament (MP) for St Andrew East Rural and wife of Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Juliet spoke unabashedly of her first encounter with Tenn: “I had on boots and a construction hat and [was] knee deep in cement when Mrs Tenn, who was driving by, welcomed me to the neighbourhood. And she has shown nothing but neighbourly love since that day.” PM Holness, for his part, said that his wife no longer cooks as much because of Tenn’s formidable fare.
Blessings were showered upon Tenn by her son Marvin, granddaughter Nahla, along with her friends. The multi-award-winning culinary maestro expressed immense gratitude for another year around the sun.
Naturally, the M10-catered dinner found favour with all. Tenn later cut her Pastries by Jan birthday cake with her beloved son Marvin.
