Mavado and Ghanian singer KiDi hit Billboard
Dancehall artiste Mavado has hit a Billboard singles chart for the third time in his career.
His collaboration, ‘Blessed’, with Ghanian Afrobeats singer KiDi has moved up from seven to number two on the Billboard Triller Global Chart. The song is spending its third week on the tally.
KiDi, who is 29 years old, won Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year at the 2022 Ghana Music Awards.
His best known song globally is ‘Odo’.
In a post on his official Instagram page, Mavado asked fans to continue to support ‘Blessed’.
“Worldwide fans give thanks and keep it going to #1,” the post read.
Mavado previously hit the Billboard charts with ‘Weh Dem a Do’ and ‘So Special’. ‘Weh Dem a Do’ reached number 27 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart in 2007 while in 2008, ‘So Special’, which is featured on the Unfinished Business rhythm by TJ Records, rose to number 52.
Mavado’s next assignment is the return of his birthday bash, which is scheduled for December 10 in Queens, New York.
