PNP extends condolences to family of Leonie Forbes
Kingston, Jamaica— The People’s National Party (PNP) has expressed sadness at the passing of theatre icon and pioneering broadcaster, Leonie Forbes.
Forbes passed away at hospital on Tuesday at the age of 85.

Regarded as Jamaica’s First Lady of Theatre and Film, Leonie Forbes appeared in several films and pantomimes produced by the LTM National Pantomime in Jamaica such as Smile Orange, Whiplash and Champagne and Sky Juice.
“Ms Forbes was also a television personality and film producer for many years. ‘Milk and Honey’, ‘The Orchid House’, and ‘Children of Babylon’ are among her film and television credits. Leonie will be remembered for her charming personality, talent, and wit. Her numerous theatrical achievements have earned her a well-deserved place in the Jamaican Hall Of Fame,” a statement from the party said.
The Party went on to extend condolences to Forbes’ family, friends and loved ones.
