Yesterday, cheers rang out at King’s House as 221Jamaicans made their way to the presentation dais to receive their national awards. Among the loudest were for Emmy Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who added the Order of Jamaica (OJ) to her list of stellar accomplishments. Ralph, who was recognised for her valuable contribution as an actress, cultural ambassador for Jamaica and her contribution to the international film industry, was among 10 Jamaicans conferred with the OJ.
Others included Olympian Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce for outstanding performance in the field of athletics at the international level and Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia “Babsy” Grange for sterling contribution to cultural development and political administration in Jamaica. The trio accepted their awards in style, eventually joining forces for an epic Page 2 moment!
