WATCH: Donna-Lee’s mom desperate for closure
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Sophia Lugg, mother of presumed deceased 24-year-old Donna-Lee Donaldson, is still seeking closure as she says she does not know where her daughter is.
The distraught mother made the comment after the decision by Justice Vinnette Graham- Allen to deny bail for Noel Maitland was handed down in court on Thursday, October 13.

“I have no doubt that the justice system is working and justice must be served and it is taking its turn. Justice is working in our favour. I have no doubt justice will be served to Noel Maitland but what has me feeling this sad is that I still have no closure where my daughter is. That’s my main concern right now,” Lugg said, with a tremble in her voice.
She added that Wednesday (October 12) was her 50th birthday and it was also the three-month mark of the last time she saw her daughter.
Donaldson was first reported missing to the police on Wednesday July 13, 2022.
Maitland, who has been charged with murder and the unlawful burial of a corpse in connection to the disappearance of his girlfriend, Donna-Lee, is expected to return to court on February 9, 2023 for a plea and case management hearing. His court date is also expected to be set on that date.
