HRMAJ aims to inspire with virtual HR & Leadership annual conference
The Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ) will host its 42nd annual conference virtually from October 6 to October 7.
The HRMAJ’s HR & Leadership Virtual Masterclass conference will be stacked with thought-provoking panels and interactive discussion, organisers said at the event’s launch at Sagicor Auditorium last week.
It will be held under the theme, “Stepping Up… Igniting Greatness.”
Director of HRMAJ, Conference and Membership Services Chair, Melissa Anderson presented a rundown of the segments and respective speakers who will be present at the conference.
Among the topics are Igniting Strategic Human Resource Leadership, Threats on the Labour Market, Tips for the Talent Hunt, Microaggression, High-Performance Culture and AI and Digitalization in HR.

With the entire conference being people-focused, Anderson concluded by noting that “everything in business ties back to a person, as such you need to train people properly.”
Meanwhile, HRMAJ Vice President Michael McAnnuff Jones stated that the organisation will always be distinguished by quality, energy, and speaker selection, noting how pleased he was that the association had taken the time to invest in people both in the industry and in the community.
In addition to the conference, HRMAJ will partner with the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) for their community-focused CSR initiative, dubbed Project Star, on October 8. This collaborative effort will focus on the social transformation and renewal of 20 to 20 specially selected areas in need, beginning with the Rose Gardens community.
