PM shortens overseas trip to return home
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, today returned to the island following visits to the United States and the United Kingdom.
In a statement, Holness commented on the seriousness of the state of matters in Jamaica and what led him to cut his journey short.
“With a weather event threatening Jamaica, among other matters which demand my direct and urgent attention, I adjusted my schedule to be back earlier.”
Throughout his journey, the Prime Minister visited Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States, to participate in a conference at the invitation of Harvard University, attended the funeral service of Queen Elizabeth II in the United Kingdom, and attended the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.
Holness was slated to return to the island on Saturday, September 24.
