48 new COVID cases, four deaths reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 48 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths on Saturday.
It brings total infections to 151, 269 and virus-related deaths to 3,294.
The new cases comprise 28 females and 20 males, with ages ranging from nine days to 89 years.
The cases were recorded in St Mary (10), Kingston and St Andrew (eight), St Catherine (six), Manchester (six), St James (three), Clarendon (three),Westmoreland (two), St Elizabeth (two), Portland (two), Trelawny (two), Hanover (two), St Thomas (one) and St Ann (one).
Meanwhile, the latest fatalities comprise a 92-year-old male from Westmoreland, a 73-year-old female from St Catherine, a 62-year-old female from Kingston and St Andrew and a 56-year-old male from St Catherine.
There were 91 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 98,136.
Currently, 102 people are hospitalised, 32 of whom are moderately ill, five severely ill and two in critical condition.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing was 12.4 per cent.
