Andy Livingston finds the solution
AS the war between Russia and Ukraine rages on, it has provided the inspiration for Andy Livingston’s latest song No Solution.
No Solution is co-produced by Livingston and Herbie Harris. The song was released in May.
“I was inspired by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war as well as local events to write this song. Wars make no sense to me because the outcome is always the same: Death and destruction. I think the time has come for the leaders of the world to find better ways to solve whatever problems they have with each other. It’s obvious that war is not the answer; there must be a better solution,” said Livingston.
“I’m also deeply disturbed by what’s going on at home; there’s too much violence in our society. When did our beautiful island in the sun become such a violent place? Every day I turn on the radio and listen to the news, all I hear about are the countless murders all over the island. No one is safe anymore because the murderers are killing even the women and the children,” he continued.
A video for No Solution was recently released.
“This video captures the true essence of the song. It was directed by Wayne Lowers, and he did an excellent job with it. I am very happy with the feedback that I am getting about it,” Livingston disclosed.
Livingston has more music on the way.
“I’m currently recording tracks for my upcoming EP, it’s an authentic reggae project. It’s going to have a lot of hard-hitting songs and songs for the ladies as well,” Livingston shared.
On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War that began in 2014. The invasion caused Europe’s largest refugee crisis since World War II with around 7.2 million Ukrainians fleeing the country and a third of the population displaced. It has also caused global food shortages. Close to 6,000,000 people have been killed to date.
