74 new COVID-19 cases, one death reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 74 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Wednesday, September 7, bringing the infection total to 150,475.
The new cases comprise 43 females and 31 males, with ages ranging from 20 days to 105 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (20), St Catherine (14), St James (13), Clarendon (10), Westmoreland (seven), Manchester (five) Trelawny (four), ST Elizabeth(three), St Ann (one) and St Thomas (one).
One death was recorded for the period. The deceased is a 20-year-old female from St Catherine.
There were 47 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 97, 259.
Currently, 108 people are hospitalised, 35 of whom are moderately ill, four severely ill and one in critical condition.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 20.1 per cent.
