St Thomas roads blocked for a second day
ST THOMAS, Jamaica- Taxi operators and residents in St Thomas have blocked roads in the parish for a second consecutive day.
They are protesting the poor state of roads in the parish.
According to Deputy Superintendent Oniel Thompson, acting head of the St Thomas Police, the areas affected are Dumfries, Leith Hall and Amity Hall main roads.
On Monday, the first day of school for most students across the island, taxi drivers withdrew their services due to poor road conditions.
OBSERVER ONLINE understands that police officers are now on the scene of the protest.
The protestors have reportedly used items such as vehicles, tyres and stones to block the roads and are adamant that their concerns should be heard.
