Clayton clocks personal best in 400m Diamond League B race
Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton stormed to a new lifetime best in the 400m as she crossed the line in the third position in the B race of the event at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
Clayton, who was the only Jamaican competitor to face the starter in the event, clocked a personal best of 52.02 seconds to shatter her then-best mark of 52.29 seconds, which was set at the National Stadium in Kingston this year.
The Oregon World Championship 400 metres hurdles finalist, Clayton, finished behind France’s Amandine Brossier, who won the race in 51.74 seconds, while Belgium’s Helene Ponnette finished second in a lifetime best of 51.82 seconds.
