Meet the newest addition to designer Brandon Blackwood’s line of bags.
“I shrank our bamboo tote for this fall (don’t worry, regular bamboo totes are coming back!).
I wanted to show you guys the process. First we make 3-D moulds of our bamboo hardware that takes about two months (Our moulds are always carved by hand).
Next we make a 3-D print. Once approved we do a paper mould (literally making the bag out of paper… See first slide) …Then we make the actual sample. I trademark everything because these fast fashion brands are WILD.
It’s soooo hard keeping these totes in stock because of the work that goes into them. This mini that’s about to drop will hold your lipstick, credit cards, car keys, etc. And no it doesn’t fit a phone. I tried making a larger version but it was 6 pounds (those of you that have the card holder or tote know this is a heavy piece… I feel like light hardware feels cheap).
I feel like every drop we elevate (any OG cousin will testify to that). My goal is to give you guys the best product we can while still being attainable.
I’m so excited to show you the rest of the fall designs. Im so excited for you to see the elevation.” — BB

Guess who’s listed in the credits of Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, and visual artist Solange Knowles’ new book In Past Pupils and Smiles? Jamaican-born, Milan-based fashion and culture journalist Jordan Anderson. Anderson is listed as casting coordinator on the project.
In 2019, Knowles took over the Arsenale’s Teatro alle Tese to stage her performance art piece In Past Pupils and Smiles. The self-composed and directed work — performed live with musicians, dancers, and singers — helped close out the 58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale de Venezia.
In Past Pupils and Smiles was only publicly staged once, but photographs of that performance and another staged strictly for documentation purposes are the focus of a new book from Montreal-based publisher Anteism. The 188-page monograph was released on August 23.
Presented in a hardcover edition, the keepsake book provides an intimate look into the work’s birth from an idea to its final presentation on 24 November 2019 in the Teatro alle Tese, located in the Biennale’s iconic Arsenale site. The publication features an array of behind-the-scenes and live photography of the performance, alongside conversations and reflections.
There’s More…
Following their split into two separate brands earlier this year, HUGO and BOSS have released their Fall/Winter 2022 campaigns.
For its new Fall/Winter 2022-2023 campaign, BOSS has rounded up a band of star-studded and diverse BOSSes to explore what it means to #BeYourOwnBOSS.
Among them are British-Jamaican supermodel Naomi Campbell, who joins the BOSS cast for the first time. The other big names are model Kendall Jenner; British professional boxer Anthony Joshua; German runner Alica Schmidt; Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini; South Korean actor Lee Min-ho; Senegalese-Italian TikTok sensation LeeMinho; and American rap superstar Future.
Campbell and Future are also ‘Boss-ed’ up for the DSCENE Magazine’s Anniversary Edition cover in pieces from the label’s Fall/Winter 2022-2023 collection.

HUGO, which is now more trend-focused than BOSS, expands upon the momentum from the brand refresh, focusing on self-expression and personal freedom through the #HUGOYourWay tagline. Joining them in the rebellious, barrier-breaking Fall/Winter 2022 campaign is model and singer Selah Marley. Marley is the daughter of singer-songwriter and rapper Lauryn Hill and football player Rohan Marley, and granddaughter of reggae legend Bob Marley.

Let’s Wrap With…
The Stamp Chronicles, a Jamaica 60 commemorative 500-piece puzzle created by Shauna-Gaye Hart. SO first spotlighted Hart’s puzzles in February, and is delighted to share news of her latest venture.
“Every stamp tells a story. When the idea came to me to create a stamp collage puzzle, I immediately got excited; the thrill of the hunt, then, what each stamp would reveal as I got lost in its story: the history, the politics, the economics, the culture, and the shift of all these things as the years went by.
What a fun and nostalgic journey! And what better way to commemorate Jamaica 60?!
As you put each piece together, take note of all the small details. It is my hope that you are transported through time, again and again, and that you enjoy it as much as I did.” — Shauna-Gaye Hart
