27-y-o St Thomas man fatally shot in bed
ST THOMAS, Jamaica — A St Thomas father was left grief stricken after learning that his 27-year-old son was shot dead in his bedroom on Saturday.
“Mi hear one shot… and den mi hear a next shot an mi bwoy bawl out,” said a shaken Robert Taylor as he relived the minute his son, Okefe, was killed.
Robert was in his bedroom when he heard the shots coming from his son’s bedroom about 12:15 am. The barrage of bullets echoed throughout their house in Capture Land and spilled over into the community of Seaforth, in St Thomas.
OBSERVER ONLINE understands that Okefe’s bedroom door was kicked open and he was shot in his bed. According to the Morant Bay Criminal Investigation Branch, six nine-mm spent shells were found at the scene.
On her way back from a ninth night, held for a cousin who died recently, the slain man’s sister Primrose had an inkling something was wrong.

Detectives have not yet established a motive for the killing.
