Jamaica Women’s 4x400m relay team upgraded to silver at Commonwealth Games after England is disqualified
The Jamaican women’s 4x400m relay team saw their bronze medal upgraded to silver at the Commonwealth Games on Sunday, after England which crossed the line first was later disqualified.
The makeshift Jamaican team of 400m hurdles silver medallist Shiann Salmon, Junelle Bromfield, Roneisha McGregor and 800m finalist Natoya Goule on anchor, led for the first two laps but were eventually overhauled and finished third in 3:26.39 seconds.
The Canadians who had earlier claimed silver in 3:25.84 seconds saw their medal upgraded to gold and Scotland which placed fourth in 3:30.15 was upgraded to the bronze medal position.
