Ardenne Prep building new admin block
Executive chairman of the Church of God in Jamaica Rev Adinhair Jones (second left) breaks ground for the building of a new administrative block at Ardenne Preparatory and Extension High School on Hope Road in St Andrew on July 14. With him are (from left) Rev W George Lewis, a member of the school board; Pastor George Pottinger, school chaplain; and Dorothy Britton McKenzie, vice-principal at the school.
Construction of the new two-storey building comes after the previous facility was destroyed by fire on September 28, 2019.
In addition to the administrative offices, the new building will include a sick bay, general assembly area, classrooms, computer and reading laboratory, and eventually, a performing arts area.
Construction is being undertaken by Dennis Barnaby Construction Limited with quantity surveyors Burrowes and Wallace. The project, the school said, will cost approximately $56 million and the estimated completion of the total structure is in 2023.
