#Sumfest2022: Bounty walks out as Ishawna demands Equal Rights
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Ishawna is known for controversy, and the dancehall star was in her element on the Reggae Sumfest stage in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
Particularly, the controversy around her biggest hit single, Equal Rights, which covers the taboo topic of oral sex, took on new life as she brought on a life size cut out of ace deejay Bounty Killer – among dancehall’s most vocal critics of the sex act – to embellish the performance.
The crowd went wild upon seeing the prop and was sent further into a tailspin when the instrumental to Equal Rights was played
It may have been a coincidence but immediately following the unveiling, Bounty Killer was seen making a swift exit from the venue through the media area, his crew following sharply behind him.
Not even the prime minister and Minister of Health Dr Christopher Tufton were spared Ishawna’s wrath as the deejay also brought cut outs of the politicians on stage and did not hesitate to gyrate on them as she performed.
Ishawna, who is enjoying a resurgence on the music scene thanks to her collaboration with international star Ed Sheeran, is proving that she is indeed among the top female acts in the dancehall.
