WATCH: Nannyville shootout leaves two dead
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four men were shot, two fatally, and three firearms recovered during a police shootout in Nannyville Gardens, St Andrew last night.
Up to publication time Saturday morning, police had not released the name of the dead men.
A video of the shootout has already gone viral on social media.
Head of the St Andrew Central police, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, said sometime after 8 pm police accosted the four men who opened fire at them.
He said following a shootout, two of the men were killed and another two admitted to hospital.
Residents of Nannyville named one of the dead men as Pablo and another as Country. The residents said three of the men had been walking around with guns in the community and somehow drew the attention of the police.
They say the fourth man had only recently moved to the area from the country, hence his nickname. They said he was innocently caught up in the gunfire.
