Lodge St John charity golf tourney Saturday
Lodge St John will host its inaugural charity golf tournament at Caymanas Golf & Country Club on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
An 8:30 am shotgun start will kick off the event, sanctioned by the Jamaica Golf Association, and being staged as the flagship fund-raiser this year for the lodge’s scholarships and charity programmes.
Annually, the lodge awards scholarships to engineering students at University of Technology, Jamaica and provides ongoing support with the nutrition and other needs for students at both Boys’ Town Infant and North Street Primary schools.
More than 80 golfers are expected to compete in the tournament which will run under the Stableford format with ½ handicap in Ladies, Men, Men Senior and Men Super Senior categories.
Master of the lodge, Winston Watson, an avid golfer himself, expressed delight with the support the tournament has received from several sponsors, particularly because of the impact that funds raised will have in touching and improving lives.
He stated that the lodge “is squarely committed to developing and building young minds, through supporting their nutrition, education, social and soft skills”.
Among the prizes on offer are airline ticket, weekends/day passes at luxury hotels, appliances, gift certificates, gift baskets, cellular phones, gourmet meals, spa treatments, gift certificates and rounds of golf at Tryall & Cinnamon Hill.
