Cliffside Brunch @ The Cannon Cliff

Situated 510 metres south-east of the resort, Cannon Cliff is one of its iconic locations for destination weddings. “During our site inspection with Angella Bolton-Trowers, general manager at Frenchman’s Cove… she said she had a little gem she wanted to show us. So we went up to the cliff, and as we were driving up Khloé and I thought, OMG! We have to do something here. First, we thought it perfect for the street food dinner with a live band…but the beauty of the spot would be lost at night. The decision was taken to have Sunday brunch there. No better way, we thought, to wrap a wonderful weekend,” shared Clarke.

The decision could not have been better!

The mood was bittersweet as guests arrived to the soothing melodic sounds of saxophonist Van Creed (all good things must, alas, come to an end) and immediately sought to immortalise the moment against a majestic backdrop of jagged cliffs before contemplating the impressive spread of brunch offerings, from pink Moscato, strawberries ‘n cream pancakes, ackee and corn pork wraps, callaloo and salmon quiches, buttermilk shrimp ‘n spiced Belgian waffles to omelettes made to order at the Fluffy Omelette Station, there was something for everybody.

As temperatures rose, Luxe campers — who now had the company of Tourism Enhancement Fund Executive Director Dr Carey Wallace and his fiancée, Great Huts Managing Partner Vivene Levison — sipped on Heineken-infused cocktails while lauding Karen and Khloe Clarke’s stellar execution of the event.

Luxe campers savoured every final moment reluctantly tearing themselves away from new-found friends and the exquisite setting to return home.
