#Sub-10 King Asafa Powell is thrilled to have the Guinness World Record plaque hanging on a wall in his home. Powell became a Guinness Book of World Records holder in May 2017 for the most competitive 100m sprint races completed in sub-10 seconds in 97 races between June 12, 2004 and September 1, 2016.
Powell shared the update with his over 461,000 followers on Instagram. “It’s finally on the wall, proud accomplishment #sub10king and Jamaica flag emoji,” was how Powell captioned a photo of himself standing beside the plaque.

Jamaican jewellery designer Matthew “Mateo” Harris’s pearl and diamond earrings topped the Best in Pearls category at the 2022 Couture Design Awards. Held on Saturday, June 11 at the Wynn Las Vegas, the annual event honours the best jewellery creations across 15 categories.
Beaming with joy, the jewellery designer shared photos on his Instagram page with the caption: “So humbled and honoured to be awarded Best in Pearls at The COUTURE Design Awards show. Special thanks to my @for_future_reference family.”

Nicholas Daley, founder of the eponymous British menswear label, is the winner of the 2022 BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund. The London-based designer beat Clothsurgeon, LYPH and Olubiyi Thomas to walk away with a £150,000 cash prize, plus a 12-month mentorship and pro-bono legal services.
Born to Scottish and Jamaican parents, Daley is among a generation of emerging designers with multicultural backgrounds who are redefining and reimagining British fashion.
Chief executive of the British Fashion Council (BFC) Caroline Rush described Nicholas Daley as a “menswear brand exploring the interplay of fashion, music, and art in novel and exciting ways. With a forward-thinking approach, Daley challenges the way fashion is deciphered through presentations”.
