Cornwall College basketballers snap two-game losing skid
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Cornwall College snapped a two-game losing skid to beat Holland High 47-12 at Cornwall College on Friday and book their spot in the final of the ISSA/Western Conference Under-15 basketball compitiotion against Herbert Morrison Technical next week.
Cornwall College ended their first-round schedule with 10 points and resumed the lead in the points tables, one more than Herbert Morrison who will complete their schedule on Monday against York Castle.
Cornwall College held a narrow one point 5-4 lead after the first quarter on Friday before they stepped up the pace in the second quarter, led 17-8 at half-time and 29-10 at the end of the third quarter.
Matai Williams who attracted double teams, led the scoring with 20 points and had nine steals and six assists, Dejeaun Williams scored 16 points and had seven rebounds and six steals while Tyreek Mowatt scored eight points and had nine rebounds and seven steals.
Horraine Webster scored four points for Holland High, Zaheer Lynch scored three points, while Demarco Neish and Evair Reid-Hines both had two points.
