St Jago’s Gregory Prince accepted at Texas Tech University in the US
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — St Jago High School’s Gregory Prince, who was crowned Class 1 400 metre champion at the ISSA Boys’ and Girls’ athletics championship in April, will be taking his talents to Texas Tech University in the United States.
Prince has accepted a scholarship to attend the university, the Texas Tech track and field team announced Tuesday.
“We have a Prince becoming a Red Raider soon,” the track team, nicknamed the Red Raiders, posted to Instagram.
Prince is the latest Jamaican high school track star to accept a scholarship at an American university. Kingston College star jumper Jaydon Hibbert and Jamaica College middle distance star J’voughnn Blake, have already committed to University of Tennessee and Dartmouth College, respectively.
