WATCH: Police Federation reacts to overtime pay ruling
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Constitutional Court on Friday ruled that Government is in breach of several agreements with the Police Federation – which represents rank-and-file members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) –relating to overtime pay.
The Government has been ordered to, before March 31, 2023, implement a system which will capture the actual hours worked by JCF members in excess of 40 hours per week and that the members should “thereafter be remunerated accordingly for such excess hours”.
Following the ruling, Jamaica Police Federation attorney Jacqueline Samuels-Brown and general secretary Corporal Arleen McBean spoke with journalists. Watch the video below.
