Guardsman announces growth plans
The Guardsman Group is expanding with a focus on digital transformation. In a release sent to the Jamaica Observer, the Guardsman Group revealed that the company will embark on establishing new partnerships through acquisitions and joint ventures in the near future.
The company said it will provide more details on its growth ambitions within the next six months, outlining that some of the planned innovations are sure to make a positive impact on the private security landscape in Jamaica.
But the expansion will likely go beyond Jamaica. Senior officials within the group told the Caribbean Business Report that Guardsman plans to enter two English speaking territories in the region. The names of these prospective territories were not disclosed.
In the meantime, the company said innovation and digital technologies will continue to lead its endeavours in Jamaica and across the region.
“Guardsman Armoured was rebranded to Beryllium Limited in 2021. Beryllium is now Jamaica’s number one outsourcing company for high-risk technology and finance processes,” the release stated.
With regards to the Guardsman Alarms segment of the business, the company Guardsman Alarms has partnered with an international and world-renowned monitoring company that uses the latest technology with two multi-redundant facilities in the United States to deliver what it refers to as the most reliable monitoring service on this side of the hemisphere.
The company has also introduced a cloud-based computer aided dispatch software which allows Guardsman Alarms to leverage smart devices and wireless mobile networks to respond to emergencies quickly thereby minimising response times. Response assets receive their communication through a mobile responder app allowing two-way communication and real-time reporting allowing for greater situational awareness.
“As the world adopts more digital technology to improve their daily lives, Guardsman has also adopted new innovative ways of giving better home and business security to Jamaicans today,” Guardsman noted.
The company is also looking to improve its technological offering for smart homes, noting that these solutions are becoming increasingly more popular among homeowners.
“As the demand for smart home and security services grow, Guardsman’s research and development team continues to seek out the best security technology to enhance overall security while giving its users the ultimate control and visibility. “
The Guardsman Group employs over 8,000 people across the region and provides opportunities for upskilling and training through the Guardsman University which was launched earlier this year. Employees have access to free online courses in several subject matters ranging from security to non-security disciplines at their own pace and on their own time.
“In the future, Guardsman will partner with other learning institutions to offer certified courses for even great professional and academic development of its people,” the release continued.
