KLE Group delivers joy to Oracabessa High School
COMMITTED to the socio-economic development of the coastal community of Oracabessa, St Mary, KLE Group’s Labour Day initiative focused on the children. David Shirley, KLE Group chairman and director of Locker Room Sports, and Ard Jarrett, KLE group director and chairman of Zuar Limited, visited Oracabessa High School with a donation of sporting equipment, and a pledge of support to assist in the development and advancement of the school’s sports programme. Oracabessa is the home of Bessa, the group’s highly anticipated luxury real estate project.
Principal Natrecia Lothian, Senior Vice-Principal Donovan Thomas, Vice-Principal Claudelle Garrick, and head of the Physical Education Department Naydia Stephens were grateful for the gifts of footballs, cones and other much needed training tools. Also present was Adrian Ramdeen, coach and PE teacher, along with student-athletes 18-year-old Nathan Wright and 15-year-old Gabrielle Wright.

“Extracurricular activities are often expensive; they have become an unattainable dream for some children in rural areas. Many parents’ budgets are already very thinly stretched, so we are grateful for KLE’s support,” shared Lothian.
“Children who have the opportunity to play sports learn many life lessons. Teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, responsibility, ethics, time management, how to strive to win and cope with losing, these are all transferable life skills,” Shirley said.
KLE’s commitment continues this summer with plans for a sports summer camp in Oracabessa, to identify talent, develop skills and realise the potential of student athletes in the parish.
“We are committed to enriching the lives of youth in St Mary. This contribution represents one of the many ways our team is working together alongside our new St Mary family,” said Shirley.
