Cornwall chalk up third U-15 basketball win
CORNWALL College maintained their winning start in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/Western Conference Under-15 boys’ basketball competition after beating Holland High 35-16 at Holland High on Thursday.
Cornwall College, who were claiming victory number three this season, were led by Matia Williams for the third game in a row. They lead the points table with maximum six points, followed by Holland who have three points from two games. York Castle High have two points and Herbert Morrison Technical have one.
Holland High came into the game on a high after a big win over York Castle earlier in the week. But Cornwall College led 12-6 after the first quarter and 18-12 at half-time, before outscoring the hosts 10-0 in the third quarter for a 28-12 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
Williams scored 26 points and had eight rebounds and eight steals, while Dejeaun Williams scored seven points and had seven steals.
Evair Reid-Hines scored six points and had five rebounds for Holland High. Khaleel Anderson scored four points.
