Crash leaves tour bus operator dead
ST JAMES, Jamaica – A fatal crash on Wednesday evening caused a massive build up of traffic on Queen’s Drive in Montego Bay, St James.
One man died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. He has been identified as 37-year-old Richardo Edwards, a tour bus operator, of a Flankers address in St James.
Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that minutes before 7:00pm, Edwards was driving a Volkswagen Golf motor car and had just exited the round-a-bout at the airport, proceeding towards Flankers when he collided with a flatbed trailer.
The trailer was said to be stationary at the time of the incident.
The deceased received a number of injuries and was trapped by the wreckage. Firefighters from the Ironshore station had to extricate him but he subsequently succumbed to the injuries.
