American singer Justine Skye has congratulated her grandfather, Jamaican-born, New York legislator Nicholas Perry, for achieving his dream of becoming United States Ambassador to Jamaica. On Thursday, the US Senate confirmed Perry with more than the required 51 votes to make him the new US Ambassador to the island.
In a tweet on Saturday, March 12, Skye — best known for her breakout hit Collide — wrote: “My grandfather accomplished a huge dream of his… US Ambassador of Jamaica! LETS GOOO!” alongside a Jamaican flag emoji.

A Jamaican delegation — led by Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett and the Jamaica Tourist Board Director of Tourism Donovan White — spent the better part of last week in Dubai attending trade shows and engaging Emirates Group Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum in high-level discussions. Their participation proved fruitful as Emirates Airlines — the largest airline in the Gulf Coast Countries (GCC) — announced its decision to offer flights to Jamaica.
