Not equal
Equality of two domestic powers
Breeds scrupulous factions,
Mean and mighty, rotting together,
Have one dust.
— Shakespeare
All things being equal, all things are not equal. How could they be? That would lead to a cosmic anarchy, a disturbance of the natural order of the universe, things fall apart, the centre cannot hold. True, it has been said that ‘All men are created equal,’ words spoken by former US President Thomas Jefferson. I’m sure he meant well, and wanted to appease the political masses, but all men were not created equal.
Anyone who read Animal Farm by George Orwell will remember the words, ‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.’ Animal Farm was a brilliant book and no fairy tale. Instead, it showed the flaws and inequality of a political system that purports to champion equality for all, but fell to the corruption of those who were in charge as they bestowed more privilege on themselves than others. I’ll get back to that later.
But putting Jefferson and Orwell aside, there are other factors that determine that we are not equal, and neither should we be. It’s the law of nature, the law of the universe, the law of the alpha male, or alpha female, the laws of big fish eating smaller fish, the pecking order and the law that says run as fast as you can and devil take the hindmost.
Not equal, that’s where we’ll go today, right after these responses to ‘Happy Husbands Day’.
Hi Tony,
I have never heard of Husbands Day, much less a happy one. Is this a secret that men have never heard of, but women have, and keep it from men? I can’t tell my wife about this day, as she’ll think that I’m making this stuff up to get one over on her. And if she believes that there is such a day, how is it celebrated any differently from Father’s Day? For this to be legit, there better be a Wives Day.
Stephen
Mr Robinson,
What sort of nonsense is this about Happy Husbands Day? Husbands are happy all the time, they don’t do housework, they don’t have periods or get pregnant and have to bear the burden for nine months. They can do as they please sexually with wife or mistress whenever it suits them with no shame attached, and they certainly do not have that time of their life when everything sags and the hot flashes erupt in sequence. As far as I’m concerned, every day is Happy Husbands Day.

Former US President Thomas Jefferson wrote, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” Now, that smacks of irony, if not hypocrisy, as Jefferson owned as many as 600 slaves in the course of his lifetime. Then the United Nations declaration of human rights stated that ‘All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.’ The Bible states, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.’
In the book Animal Farm, after the farmer died and the animals took over the running of the farm, they vowed that everything would be different and everyone would be treated differently, fairly and equally. The pigs, who were the most intelligent of the animals, took charge and called all the shots. They were the ones who made the declaration, ‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.’
They said that in response to being questioned by the other animals about certain privileges that they, the pigs, afforded themselves, which certainly did not smack of equality.
“Hey, how come you say that we’re all equal but is we doing all the work while you just relaxing?”
Maybe the pigs knew how to run things to suit themselves.
In spite of all the fancy words and phrases of all men being equal, the sad truth is, it’s just not true in the real world. Not even in a relationship is there equality; one person has to be a little more equal than the other. For many men, it’s the wives who run things. In armies, police forces, on ships, there is one top general or captain who’s in charge. He or she is certainly not equal to the cabin boy, even though that may be said.
When I research and see how babies exhibit certain characteristics that set them apart from others from that early age, I burnish my theory and watch my conclusion glisten in the rays of the sun. History is replete with inequality, of people who were born a cut above the rest, prodigies.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was composing and playing symphonies when most babies his age weren’t even potty trained. In fact, Mozart could pick out tunes on the piano at the age of three, and began composing by age four. By the time he was 12, he had written 10 symphonies and performed for royalty. After all that, you’re going to tell me that all men were created equal?
Mozart wasn’t the only one of his ilk. History has recorded numerous other child prodigies, and many still exist in this modern era. Kim Ung Young was born in South Korea in 1962 and has won all the world records by having the highest IQ of 210. He was called by NASA by the age of seven, and before the age of eight completed his doctorate. By the age of three he could solve binary calculus and by age five could speak five different languages.
There are more in this modern Internet era, among them many black children like Jayleen Bledsoe, who started Bledsoe Technology — a digital company specialising in web design and IT services — when he was 13 years old. The company is worth more than US$3.5 million. And you tell me that all men were created equal?
There are countless others, too numerous to mention here, but the point is, we are not created equal. Usain Bolt is the greatest sprinter of all time and has no equal. I know that he trained extremely hard to achieve his greatness, but I can safely say that if you took 10 other babies from the ward where Bolt was born and put them through the exact same circumstances, exposure, environment and training, they still would not achieve his greatness.
They were not born equal. Other greats like Muhammed Ali, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Jesse Owens, Michael Jackson, Pele, Lionel Messi, were not born equal when compared to other people. Again, I will stress that they all honed their skills to near perfection by training hard, but countless other people practised and trained even harder than them and couldn’t achieve their greatness.
Maybe in the eyes of the Lord all men are equal, as the Bible said, but certainly not here on earth. Even the way people are treated in society, by the law and by some institutions, shows that people are not deemed equal, even though those who speak plenty will say otherwise. The reality shows that all men are not created or treated equally.
Men, especially, know this fact, for equality is a vexing factor in their lives when it comes to their manhood. All men were definitely not created equal. Sometimes it can be so unfair. I watched this video feature that graphically showed that all men are not created equal.
These brave men paraded naked on stage to display the inequality of their manhood. It was unbelievable to see the vast array of petite penile pointers ranging from one inch, two inches to even half an inch. None of the men were married, no surprise there. And you’re still going to tell me that all men were created equal?
And yet those men were smiling and putting on a brave face as they displayed their minuscule maligned members in that penile Lilliputian purgatory of peccadilloes. The hopes and dreams of those men were dashed as they were not created equal to others.
If all men were created equal, men would not be afraid to display their wares in restrooms. Instead, they scrounge up and shield their manhood from prying eyes. No man dares look at another man’s penis, for all men are not created equal. That’s why donkey say “De world nuh level.”
If all men were created equal, men would not obsess over their phalluses and wonder if the previous man who dealt with his woman is bigger than he is. Even women are aware of this and are careful how they address the ticklish subject. They dare not say it, but they’ll certainly think it, “Oh, he’s not equal to my previous man at all.”
All men are not created equal, that’s my finding, that’s my hypothesis, and that’s my conclusion and I stand by it.
More time.

Footnote: Kingston College (KC) has been even more in the news lately, as some students were sent home because of improper grooming of their hair. KC has achieved much success and acclaim not only because of its extraordinary remarkable and enviable accomplishments in sporting activities but also academics. This didn’t happen by chance, but was forged by the adherence to strict discipline. From my days at KC we had to be well groomed and pay attention to our deportment. A KC boy was seen as an example of decorum. We cannot let that slip. Every military, police, religious, dance institution is built on discipline. Even in the animal kingdom there is discipline. Let that be eroded and it’s anarchy. Not because the rest of society is embracing low standards we should follow suit. Fortis.
