Bartlett Signs MOU With Saudi Tourism Minister
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Minister of Tourism, Edmund Barlett, and Minister of Tourism for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al Khateeb, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism collaboration and the development of sustainability and resilience globally.
The agreement was executed at the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations (UN), on the heels of the UN General Assembly’s High-level Thematic Debate on Tourism, held at the UN Headquarters, New York on Wednesday (May 4).
“This important agreement is signalling the first collaboration between a country from the Middle East and the Caribbean on tourism development, tourism strategies, and sustainability and resilience arrangements,” Bartlett said.
He noted that the agreement is going to be critical in terms of the value it will bring, by facilitating the exchange of important best practices and very useful guidelines that can benefit both countries.
