Cheers, Mum!
“We selected these wines because of their versatility both on the palate and on the pockets. We also believe the characteristics of these wines epitomise those of our mothers. They are sweet, bold, sparkling, versatile and complex in some instances.
On Mother’s Day, mothers will be celebrating in various spaces, whether relaxing at home or dining out; our selections fit perfectly into whichever obtains. We strongly believe that we should think outside a box of chocolate or a bouquet and gift mums the perfect bottle of vino from the Harbour Wines portfolio which will be enjoyed by mothers across all demographics. Might I add that these wines are readily available in all major supermarkets and convenience stores islandwide.” — Grace Foods & Services team
Château de Berne Romance
This wine is straight from the south of France. Its beautiful floral and berry aromas will awaken your senses while freshly picked summer peaches and strawberry cream will dance around your palate. Its unique bottle features a glass stopper and reveals bubble style indentations as you drink the wine. It’s perfect for sipping by the poolside or on the patio.
Nose: Amazing aromatics. Dominant orchard fruits like peaches, peach ring candies and a sweet fruit salad. And a beautiful, floral and intense nose that practically jumps out from the glass.
Taste: The freshness, the fruitiness of this wine hits you at the front of your tongue. Freshly picked and chopped fruit, very ripe peach and strawberry flavours. A great texture, almost silkiness to the wine.
Pairings: A perfect cocktail rosé — it doesn’t need food to lift the flavours, it does a fantastic job of that all on its own. Would pair well with spicy food such as jerk chicken or pork or Mexican dishes with a little heat.
Chateau Ste Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine comes directly from Washington state and the aromas are unmistakably Cabernet, bringing full-on notes of black currant along with dried herb and a kiss of spice. The flavours are ripe, luxurious and remarkably fruit forward, with the oak pleasantly dialled back. It shows plenty of richness in the middle, plenty of complexity and structure with silky tannins. It’s also very versatile with food, but we recommend pairing it with beef tenderloin or pasta.
Roscato Rosso Dolce

Made from a blend of native red grapes grown in beautiful northern Italy for centuries. Roscato Rosso Dolce makes a wonderful aperitif and is also incredibly food-friendly. The result is a wine of enticing character that perfectly meets the surging demand for sweet red blends. With a low alcohol of 7% and just a touch of sparkle to flawlessly balance the sweetness, Roscato Rosso Dolce is the ideal complement for today’s cuisine. Enjoy it with tomato-based sauces, classic Italian dishes, spicy foods and more. Serve chilled.
Nose: Intense aromas of ripe, red fruit
Palate: Sweet flavours of cherry and strawberry. Fresh, lively and frizzante
Serving suggestions: Refreshing and food-friendly; pairs well with flavourful dishes and spicy cuisine, or even your favourite dessert! Serve chilled.
Sutter Home Moscato
A well-balanced, light-bodied Moscato with beautiful scents of white peaches, rose, and lychee and a lingering finish of sweet and creamy peach and honeydew melon flavours.
Sutter Home Moscato is luxurious and sweet. The wine displays delicate aromas of white peaches, rose petals and exotic lychee on the nose that lead to creamy peach, nectarine and juicy melon flavours with hints of caramel on the palate. The sweet flavours are perfectly balanced by refreshing acidity, and a vivid, crisp finish.
Enjoy with light cheeses, barbecued ribs, spicy grilled shrimp.
Traci Stewart-Roman’s verdict:
“The Sutter Homes Moscato was definitely my favourite of the Harbour Wines today. It had a very strong fruity flavour with obvious notes of peach. I’m usually not a white wine person, but this moscato went down dangerously smooth!
Thanks to Harbour Wines for inviting me to join their wine tasting. It’s always scary going into the wine section and trying to choose something, so having made a sensory connection with a wine makes the selection so much easier!
