‘Oh Canada’ returns
‘OH Canada’ returns to the party roster on the deck of the Caribbean Queen located at 3B Port Royal Street in downtown Kingston on Friday, April 22.
After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, principal Wanda Oh Canada is promising patrons an unforgettable experience.
“It’s more than just a party, it’s an experience. I enjoy when patrons come to my event and have a memorable recollection of what took place at the event. I want them to remember the ambience, vibe and receive the full package,” he told Jamaica Observer.
“It’s [an] elated feeling being able to host events once again. When you put so much effort into building a brand and have to cancel your event, you feel somewhat cheated when you hear you can’t carry it out. When COVID came a lot of people purchased their tickets and were left disappointed, but now that the event is back we just have to give thanks and hope we don’t have any more serious pandemic similar to the COVID-19 virus,” he said.
The promoter, who currently resides in Toronto, Canada, said that he is looking forward to the support of Jamaicans living overseas.
“I’m definitely expecting the support from the residents living in Canada. In fact, I believe that this will be my first wave of supporters because every night they promote the event like it’s Canada [in which] it will be held. It’s two years now that the entertainment industry has been closed and the Canadians are growing anxious and are eager to come and enjoy themselves in Jamaica,” he said.
DJs Shuttle Bus, Boom Boom and Harry Hype, Hattaklaps, and Glen Stinger are all slated to provide the high-energy music.
In celebration of Oh Canada’s ninth anniversary, patrons will be treated to an appreciation party scheduled to be held the Sunday after the boat ride, on April 24. The event, dubbed Oh Canada Beach Flex, will take place at Cable Hut Beach in Eight Miles, Bull Bay, from 4:00 – 10:00 pm.
“Oh Canada people go for elegance and high fashion but the ‘Beach Flex’ is a more lighter outing. Still fashion, but more of a chance for patrons to come and party with us at the beach. Patrons who attended the event on Friday can show their armbands and will be allowed to enter free into the Beach Flexx. We will also have an excitement line-up which includes G Hype, Bunny Metal, Hattaklaps, DJ Banka — and our Oh Canada artiste D Ruption and Shabako are scheduled to perform,” Wanda Oh Canada added.
