Gloss Is Still In!
In this era of mask-wearing and transfer-proof matte lipsticks, you may hear the words lip gloss and think no, not for me! And we get it, now that face masks have become the new normal, our lips are increasingly getting less attention, with many people lamenting the fact that there is no point in continuing to wear lip colour.
This thought even crossed entrepreneur and make-up artist Gabrielle Waite’s mind as she geared up to launch her lip gloss line amid the coronavirus pandemic. “The feeling of doubt clouded my mind from time to time because no one was going anywhere and if you were, it was mandatory to wear a mask. I questioned if it was the right time, but I knew that no matter what, there would never be a ‘perfect’ time. So, it was just a matter of working with the imperfect time and doing it now,” Waite told Tuesday Style Dryer (TSD).
But Waite has proven that the rise of the face mask does not spell the end of luscious lips. Inspired by life’s journey of walking in faith and believing in the celestial power within, Waite launched the Selah Lip Collection — a set of three glosses — in January. And business has been good. “Persons love the formula and the pigmentation… They start off by trying one gloss but after seeing the swatches, take the entire collection,” she shared.
Created for those who prefer a soft glam look the shades Celeste (a nod to Waite’s middle name), Blessed, and Faith are easy to use, practical, universally flattering, and perfect for the on-the-go woman.
