It has been quite the year for Saint International model Romaine Dixon. The young man, who in 2018 became the first Jamaican to be featured by luxury French label Dior, has risen to the top with editorials galore, global ad campaigns for brands like Zara and Fendi, and an appearance for Hermès that secured his spot on models.com‘s The Hot List (Men). According to the website, “The Hot List is a curated line-up of the most in-demand newcomers in the business. These are the guys who conquered the runways, snagged spots in the very best campaigns and lookbooks, and made editorial waves in top tier magazines – all within a season or two… These young lads are the future, the next generation, the first-round draft picks of the modelling industry. Before you can make it to the big leagues of the Top 50, you prove your stuff here.”

Jeneil Williams is having a baby girl! The IG/Pulse supermodel shared the news with family and friends across the world via a virtual babyshower. Williams is expecting her first child with partner Shay Hunter. SO2 can report that Williams is doing well despite, in her words, all the craziness going on. She employs meditation and keeping busy at home to distract her. She is, too, like many of us, cooking a lot more.
Sleeping, she admits, has been hard some days, as heartburn takes its toll. But, with a few months left to deliver her daughter, she still flashes that fabulous smile, has slowed down, enough to appreciate every moment life affords, and cannot wait to become a mum.

London-based stylist, design consultant, and fashion editor Julian Ganio has been busy perusing his camera settings during the COVID-19 lockdown. A 10-second self-timer photo shoot has never been this fabulous with Gania taking flick after flick sprawled in a bed, dripping in designer garb. Published for German-based streetwear blog and media brand Highsnobiety the series of photos features a diverse selection of pieces from some of the world’s most recognisable brands. Among the featured designers are Fendi, Edward Crutchley, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Jamaica’s own Jessica Ogden. The highlighted quilt is made from leftover fabrics from French ready-to-wear brand A P C and designed by Ogden.

We’re adding another reason to watch the new Netflix crime film All Day and a Night. The drama which details life in the gang-ridden community of Oakland, California, is directed by Joe Robert Cole who co-wrote the well-received Black Panther movie, and is big-screen production minus a trip to the theatre. Even better? The film features the handiwork of Jamaican-born costume designer Antoinette Messam.

The Helmer brand — the brainchild of Shevanne Helmer, and her two daughters Danielle and Michelle — continues to churn out designs. Its Instagram page was recently updated with a model styled in a top handle piece made with full Kuba material by the Kuba tribe of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Danielle Helmer also took to Instagram sporting a hunter-green Rikky bag.
