One Hunts Bay escapee still at large
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are seeking the public’s assistance in recapturing 31-year-old Michael Ellis who escaped from the Hunts Bay Police Lock-Up on Sunday, April 19.
Ellis, who is charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and robbery, was one of eight prisoners who escaped the lockup during a COVID-19 sanitation exercise.
According to the police, five of the escapees have surrendered in over the past few days while 23-year-old Kenouir Holness was recaptured in Delacree Park, St Andrew on Friday.
Another of escapee, 24-year-old Leroy Burrell was killed during a confrontation with police on the Portmore toll road on Monday, April 20.
The police are urging Ellis to turn himself in and are reminding family members, residents and associates that it is an offence to harbour a criminal.
