Ricardo.
What’s your earliest childhood memory?
Travelling with my family to hotels on the north coast.
What’s your definition of life?
An opportunity to learn, live and experience as much as you can and to also give back.
What is the difference between right and wrong?
The line is different for many people. For me it’s based on the morals and principles which I grew up learning and the experiences which have taught me what to do and not to do.
Where is your happy place?
On a beach! Thankfully I live on an island, so it’s easy for me to stay happy.
Nature or Nurture?
Nurture.
Is it more important to be liked or respected?
I believe, respected. Respect will get you into spaces and open doors that likeability can’t.
If you could be remembered for one thing what would it be?
Impacting on the development of the world, no matter how small. Leaving a legacy is something I’ve always worked towards and I’ll continue working hard for.
What is your greatest love?
Travelling with family and friends.
What is your greatest fear?
Losing loved ones.
Animals or babies?
Animals.
What talent do you yearn for?
Excellent communication skills. I think they are absolutely vital to doing business anywhere in the world. So the talent I’d like is fluency in Spanish, French and Mandarin.
What book do you recommend most to others?
The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama really delivers a powerful and timely message for young go-getters. Written by then Senator Obama it really shows the power of positive thinking, determination and hard work.
What’s that one song that elicits a smile?
My Way by Frank Sinatra. Classic, timeless. You really can’t help but smile.
What food sums up happiness?
For me, happiness is food and my favourite dish is oxtail and rice and peas.
What lesson has been the hardest to learn?
Learning to accept people for who they are. You can’t force anyone to be more, or do more than they want to.
