Island Child Style SMS Edition
Forty-four child models for Island Child Style — a runway show dedicated to children’s fashion — ripped the runway Saturday last inside the theatre at Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites as part of the Sagicor Motivational Seminar (SMS) 2019. The runway show — brainchild of Norma Williams, Michelle Gordon and Brandon Ferguson, better known as the BOLD team — showcased first-class collections courtesy of 12 local designers.
They did not disappoint! Neither did the darling cabal of models with mega personalities who boldly stepped out at the penultimate event for #SMS2019 in comfy duds and couture creations from Nellie & Olivia by Olivia Campbell; Zaid by Zaid Smith; Beach Nine by Amy Fennell; Cotton Candy by Jazeene Henney; Mamayashi by Mamayashi; Aiya by Alveta Knight; Henri’s Girl by Norma Williams; Balla by Lyndon Johnson; Zilac by Laila Bennett; King’s Kreation by Pebbles King; King Blessed by Blessed; and Shenna Carby by Shenna Carby.
According to Island Child Style debut designer Norma Williams the runway show — which started in 2016 with American model and reality star Cynthia Bailey as the style patron — not only empowered the child participants but also pushed adults like her to realise their design dreams.
