Asafa Powell’s wife, Alyshia, gives birth
After making a grand pregnancy announcement a few months ago, Asafa Powell’s wife, Alyshia, has given birth to their first child together.
The Jamaican track and field star made the revelation on Wednesday via his Instagram page. In a series of posts on his Instagram story, Asafa showed Alyshia on a hospital bed breastfeeding the newborn. He was seated close by wearing a hospital gown.
“What you got there?” Asafa asked, and Alyshia responded: “Baby.”
The sprinter also referred to her as a champion.
In May, Alyshia
announced her pregnancy via Instagram to her 17,000 followers.
“My little bun in the oven and I
are wishing all mothers an amazing Mother’s Day. Today and every single day
you’re appreciated and celebrated,” she said.
The pregnancy news came a few months after Asafa and Alyshia tied the knot at the Rose Hall Great House in St James.
