Justin Morin appointed Managing Director of ATL
One of country’s longest standing and best loved appliance retailers and engineering services companies, Appliance Traders Limited (ATL), has begun its exciting resurgence following the appointment of Justin Morin to the position of Managing Director.
Morin joins ATL
having most recently held the position of Chief Executive Officer at telecoms
company Digicel Jamaica, where he successfully led a transformation of the
business to deliver solid revenue and market share growth during a time of
significant challenges for the industry. His rich experience working with
different cultures across the Caribbean, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe
and Asia has shaped his leadership style and ability to deliver performance
improvement irrespective of the environment.
Adam Stewart, deputy chairman and CEO of the ATL Group commented, “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Justin to the ATL Group family, where he’ll play an integral role in supporting the future transformation of this fantastic company.”
He added: “Justin brings with him two decades of strong experience in strategy, general management, digital transformation, as well as corporate finance. Over that period, he developed a reputation as a passionate leader; a characteristic we demand throughout our group of companies and we believe his tried and tested ability to problem solve and deliver results combined with our existing team is a recipe for success.
“Appliance Traders boasts a rich heritage over 50 years as well as an excellent local reputation and Justin will be working directly with me, my team and the established team at ATL to help invigorate the company from the ground up. We have big, big plans for Appliance Traders and we’ll continue to add new, fresh thinking to our existing in-house know how in order to deliver first class service across home and commercial appliances, business solutions and engineering services.”
In addition to
Digicel, Morin has been an advisor to executives of several global companies
such as Veon, MTN, Saudi Telecoms, Virgin Mobile, and GraceKennedy, giving him
a unique blend and depth of experience across various industries and verticals,
including telecoms, media, manufacturing, distribution, retail, and banking.
Morin commented, “As a born and bred Jamaican, it’s a great opportunity to join one of the country’s best-loved ‘legacy’ companies. We operate in some of the most competitive industries out there and I am excited to work alongside equally passionate people to take up the challenge. Having spoken to Adam and the team, the plans we have in store are genuinely game-changing and I am excited to get started on contributing to the strong culture of ATL while continuing to drive the kind of innovation which was started by our Chairman 50 years ago.”
