Doha 2019: McPherson, Jackson through to 400m final
DOHA, Qatar — Jamaica’s Stephenie Ann McPherson and Shericka Jackson are safely through to the 400m final at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Competing in heat three, McPherson was first through the line in 50.70s ahead of Poland’s Justyna Swiety-Ersetic, who grabbed second in 50.96s.
Earlier, in heat two, Jackson recorded 50.10s to finish third, but took a time qualifier spot in the final.
The 2016 Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo of The Bahamas won that heat in 49.66s while Wadeline Jonathas of the USA was second in a personal best of 50.07s.
